CHC50302 Diploma of Children’s Services

One year full time

Overview

Upon completion of the Diploma in Children’s Services you will be a fully Qualified Child Care Worker. Earn over $37,000 gross in your first year or go to university to complete a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or Bachelor of Teaching/ Arts (Primary). No HSC or UAI required.

The Diploma of Children’s Services is a Nationally Accredited Course which covers children 0-12 years.

Length of Course

The Diploma of Children’s Services is comprised of a total of 35 units (20 units-13 Compulsory and 7 electives). The first 15 units form Certificate III in Children’s services (11 compulsory and 4 electives).
One year full time (total 44 weeks face to face- covering children 0-12 years)

Assessments

• All courses are competency based.
• You show competency in each unit by submitting assessment tasks.
• There are no exams.
• During your course you are also assessed working with children.

Pathways to Future Training

The Diploma of Children Services leads directly into a Bachelor of Education at University. Advanced Diploma not required.

We offer a pathways workshop to assist your entry to university as part of your course.

We also have available an ongoing University Mentoring Programme to further assist your transition to university.

Demonstrated ability at Reading, Writing and Comprehension in English (Yr 10 or Equivalent).

CHC30402 Certificate III in Children’s Services

18 Weeks Full Time

Overview

Certificate III in Children’s Services is the first 15 units of the full Diploma of Children’s Services. The Certificate III in Children’s Services provides a fabulous introduction to children services and is suitable for anyone considering a rewarding career in child care. Earn $30,000 first year or continue on to complete the full Diploma of Children’s Services. Depending on the setting, you may work under direct supervision or autonomously.

Certificate III in Children’s Services is a Nationally Accredited Course which covers children 0-12 years.
